Gulping down the rest of her milk, Yousha slammed the glass on the round wooden table.
"Finished!" she announced. Giving a big smile at her parents.
Her mother looked up from her plate, knife and fork in hand. She sighed giving a little smile. "Alright little minx, you can go." Tharisa chuckled lightly.
Yousha's eyes lit up with delight, she jumped down from her chair, wiping the remainder milk from her top lip with her arm. She scampered out the front door of their little cottage, shutting the door loudly, before running down the path and cutting through the forest.
Lorin'Das looked up from his book. Blinking at his wife. "She's only seven years old and still I have no idea where she gets her energy from."
Smiling, Tharisa replied. "She just can't get enough of Vekusen and Klyra."
Lorin'Das gave a small chuckle, returning to his book.
Pumping her arms and panting through her mouth, Yousha could see her best friends down by the small river that ran under a large bridge.
"Vekusen! Klyra!" she bellowed, waving her arm at them, her feet slamming obnoxiously against the grass and her little red dress flowing with the wind as she ran.
Both the little black haired twins looked up from watching the small fish in the stream. Grins smeared on their faces. Standing up at the same time they waved back, Klyra was jumping up and down.
"Yousha!" Vekusen shouted back. "You've got to come 'n' see this!"
As she slowed her pace, stumbling a little, nearly falling into the water.
"What?! What is it?!" Yousha panted, her emerald eyes wide, as she looked at both twins.
"Look at the little fish!" Klyra, was still jumping up and down a little, pointing at the small orange fish that swam up the river. "They're so pretty!" She giggled.
The blond haired blood elf gasped. "Wow! I never knew that fish lived in there!"
Vekusen grinned. "Yeah. Mummy says it's 'cause of the warm weather, so they swim all the way here, to keep warm."
"Nooo!" Klyra denied loudly whilst frowning, her little black pigtails shaking as she shook her head a slightly. "Daddy says that they swim up the river so that the mummy fish can lay their eggs!"
"They also swim up here to keep warm!" Vekusen argued back, flicking water up at his sister with his hand.
Klyra screamed. Wiping the water droplets from her face. "You pig!" she glared, kicking water back at him.
Vekusen cackled, only managing to dodge half of the water.
Yousha stood there, a little shocked, but a big smile on her face, making little dimples in her soft chubby cheeks.
The twins continued to splash water at each other, screaming.
Grinning wickedly, Yousha ran up the little hill, and onto the large wooden bridge. Climbing up the wooden carvings on the side of the bridge, she stood on top of it, holding her arms out, as she swayed slightly.
"Hey!" she shouted.
Both brother and sister stopped splashing, and looked up at their friend, their eyes wide and mouths slightly open in amazement.
"Go on! Jump Yoush, jump!" Vekusen cheered her on, his fist in the air, bouncing on his feet.
Klyra still stood there, her eyes wide. "N-no wait! Yousha your mummy said that you shouldn't jump off of there! You might hurt yourself!" She arched her black eyebrows in worry.
"Jump! Jump! Jump!" Her brother yelled.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out through her lips, Yousha looked down at the clear water, sparkling in the sunlight that beamed through the gold and orange leaved trees. The warm wind gently fluttered her golden locks. Bending her knees, she pushed off of the wooden beam, shaping her body into a diving position, before it collided with the cool water, millions of little bubbles stroked past her skin, and her red dress flowed gracefully in the water.
Swimming back up to the top, the sound of Vekusen cheering at her filled her ears. She waved at both of them. Klyra stood in awe, before running into the water with her brother.
After spending a couple of hours swimming and splashing in the river, all three of the young blood elves had climbed their way up their favourite hill, that was covered in softly glowing peaceblooms. The warm golden rays of the sun washed over the hill, where the children lay, drying of in the gentle breeze, petals tickling their cheeks, as all three of them giggled and chatted.
Later, once they had all dried off and started to make their way home, Klyra turned to Yousha as the girls made their way down the hill.
"Where's Veku?" she asked Yousha.
Lemmie go back and check!" she smiled, running up the hill. "'Ey! Veku!" She called out to her friend. "Why aren't you coming to play? We're gonna play chase!" Yousha grinned, her grin soon faded, as she raised an eyebrow. "
Are you pickin' flowers?" The blonde haired elf giggled. "Who're you pickin' 'em for?" She teased.
Vekusen turned round quickly. "E-er
I-I was pickin' 'em for n-no-one! Especially not you!" The boy blushed furiously, dropping the flowers on the ground. "See? I wasn't pickin' 'em! I-I was just lookin' at 'em!" Vekusen insisted, stamping his foot on the crumpled flowers.
Yousha stared at him for a while, before giving a little shrug. "Whatever! You comin' to play?"
The dark haired elf, nodded, his hands clenched into fists, looking at his feet trying to hide his red chubby cheeks.
"Well, c'mon then! Klyra's waitin'!" Yousha gestured with her hand, as she began to run back down the hill, Vekusen following after her, a small smile on his face.
